Guyson New Head Office

Founded in Leeds in 1938, Guyson moved several times in its early years before settling in an old Mill in Otley in 1950, when permission to extend the site in Otley was refused an alternative site at lower Snaygill was chosen for a new factory unit. Continued expansion over the years saw manufacturing fully moved away from Otley in the early 1990’s when the Skipton site took over as the headquarters of the business.

With fourth generation of the Thomson family now at the helm, this investment in the Skipton site represents the culmination of 10 years of investment which has improved productivity and energy efficiency.

In over 80 years of operations the company has created a global presence, with subsidiary companies, Guyson Corporation of the USA (now in its 50th year), Guyson SA in France, Guyson SDN in Malaysia and Guyson CN in China as well as it’s dedicated Hose and Couplings Division in Guiseley. The company is also supported by over 20 distributors worldwide.

As the company’s 90th anniversary approaches in 2028, Directors Jimmy and Andrew Thomson view the project as a key milestone in ensuring the business remains aligned with the demands of an increasingly dynamic global marketplace, whilst fostering an environment that supports continued growth and prosperity for generations to come.
