From the dwell station, the component is indexed round to the third station to be blasted. Component blasting is carried out by four model 900 blast guns connected to a KUKA KR12 R1810-2 IP65/67 robotic system. The robotically-controlled blasting element of the RB RXS system delivers
high-precision blast nozzle manipulation and pin-point control of process parameters, ensuring the customer can maintain the optimum surface speed, blasting angle and stand-off distance required for their finishing application.
Surface finishing of the component is enhanced further by the innovative implementation of the spindle design to each station. Spindle stations not only play a key role in achieving complete blast coverage and air wash cleaning of the component, by exposing all surface areas for the same controlled period through rotation, but they also provide flexibility to accommodate different component geometries and process requirements.
